[COP24] SUEZ distinguished for its contribution in Poland

SUEZ Poland received on December 6, 2018, a "Business Award for Architects of Development ». The Prize was awarded by the UN Global Compact Network Poland, on the occasion of "Cities for Climate Urban Summit" during the COP24*.

Andre Lemlyn, Vice President of SUEZ Polska received from Javier Cortez, Head of UN Global Compact Cities Program in Madrid and Jerzy Kwiecinski, Minister of Investment and Development, the Architect of Development Award, in acknowledgment of SUEZ contribution to the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Stephane Heddesheimer, CEO, SUEZ Poland : “SUEZ Polska is incredibly proud to receive such a distinguished award, which we dedicate to our staff and clients, thanks to whom we can develop reliable and sustainable solutions for the management of water and solid waste. As an illustration, our Energy-from-Waste facility in Poznan is the only such facility which has been recognized by the Polish Energy Regulator as a source of renewable energy. In this way, the City of Poznan is able to provide up to 34 MW of heat which would be otherwise generated from coal. We are looking forward to developing further contributions to reduce the impact of waste management on climate change.”

*COP24 takes place from 2 to 14 December 2018 in Katowice, Poland.
