On the occasion of the 2025 edition of the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales (France’s Exhibition dedicated to local public authorities), SUEZ and the Fondation Jean Jaurès publish a report entitled “Water, a common good under pressure – Rethinking its financing to secure its future” to alert public authorities and society to the urgent need to reform the financing of water and sanitation services in France.

The Grand Paris Seine & Oise Urban Community (CU GPS&O) has renewed the contract awarded to SUEZ to provide wastewater treatment services for 24 municipalities in the Yvelines department. This €33 million eight-year contract aims to transform the Mureaux wastewater treatment plant into a key facility supporting the ecological transition in the Île-de-France region and engaging with its local community.

After 12 months of construction, the project leaders of H2 Créteil inaugurate a new renewable hydrogen production and distribution station, based in Créteil, connected to the energy-from-waste facility of the SMITDUVM, the local authority in charge of waste management in Val-de-Marne. As the first plant to be directly and exclusively connected to an energy-from-waste facility in France, this new unit will produce one ton of renewable hydrogen  per day from household waste. It provides a new energy solution for green mobility stakeholders in Val-de-Marne and, more broadly, in the Ile-de-France region.

Launched on July 1st, SUEZ’s second employee shareholding plan as an unlisted company, “Go SUEZ 2025”, was a resounding success, attracting more than 15,000 subscribers (a 39% participation). This result highlights employees’ strong commitment to the company’s vision and their will to contribute to its long-term development.

SUEZ and RATP Group announce the signing of a long-term renewable energy purchase agreement – (PPA). Under this agreement, SUEZ will supply RATP Group — the world's third-largest urban transport operator — with almost 100 GWh of renewable electricity per year, generated from the recovery of household waste. The contract will last for a maximum of 16 years.

On Monday July 21st, drinking water services in the Cannes area received the first international label recognizing the quality and performance of public water services. The label was developed by the independent organization Aquacert International, with the support and expertise of SUEZ. It rewards the collaborative efforts of SICASIL1, the Cannes Pays de Lérins urban community, and their partner SUEZ.

SUEZ and Seabex, a French AgriTech start-up specializing in irrigation optimization and agricultural resource management, have announced the signing of a partnership to experiment the agronomic benefits of biochar on several farms in the Loiret department, in the center of France.
