SUEZ organises its first Innovation Week from 12 to 19 October 2018
Droughts, floods and record-breaking wild fires, the seventh continent of plastic... Warnings are no longer enough. Together we must take action and innovate, to create solutions that will safeguard resources today and tomorrow. From 12 to 19 October 2018, SUEZ is organising its first week-long event dedicated to innovation for the smart and sustainable management of the planet’s resources.
Sustainable resource management is everyone’s business. The future of our societies is at stake. For seven days, employees, start-ups, experts, businesses, local authorities and citizens, will take part in a series of events organised all over the world:
12 and 13 October
On 12 and 13 October, Innovation Week will be preceded by simultaneous open days for the general public on more than 40 SUEZ sites in France for the first time. The visitors will be able to discover the secrets of water and recycling. More information and bookings on the site (in French only).
16 October
10:30 am to 1:00 pm: the first open-resource conference
The SUEZ open_resource conferences will bring together experts, researchers, engineers, politicians, urban developers, industrial manufacturers and entrepreneurs who want to strengthen the open innovation culture and the joint development of the solutions of the future. Check the conferences program.
At 7:00 pm: The Innovation Trophies awards ceremony
2018, which marks the tenth anniversary of the Innovation Trophies, has been particularly rich, with 200 innovative projects working for the resource and digital revolutions. 13 projects will be rewarded at the Innovation Trophies awards ceremony.
17 and 18 October
On 17 October, SUEZ’s employees will have the opportunity to use a digital platform to take part in seven workshops dedicated to the Group’s activities, from municipal water, recycling and re-use, to treatment infrastructures, Advanced Solutions, industry, emerging markets and collective performance. The goal is to share innovations and best practices, and then deploy them as quickly as possible throughout the Group.
On 18 October, the “hack@SUEZ” in-house hackathon will bring together the community of innovators all over the world to work on major challenges that SUEZ, its customers and the planet are facing, including:
Reducing the environmental footprint of industrial activities
Reducing consumption by and with citizens
Saving the oceans
The teams from SUEZ, working with external partners, will take turns for 24 hours to find ideas that they can share with the entire Group on its innovation web platform, INNOV@SUEZ. The ideas produced by the teams in Asia in the morning will be enriched by the teams in Europe, and then North and South America.
