Decarbonising waste collection in Limoges

In 2023, the Limoges metropolitan area in France entered a “performance contract”, a new form of contract that features targets for sorting and reducing waste.

Under this new sustainability-oriented contract, carbon emissions from household waste collection are being reduced through the use of 16 electric trucks and 10 trucks running on the biofuel XTL, which have replaced the former diesel fleet.
