Targeted studies for better waste management

We are working alongside our customers, local authorities and industrialists, to meet the many challenges of circularity of resources throughout the project value chain, by designing concrete strategies and solutions to act in favour of the energy and ecological transition.

Optimising your resources: our mission!

Across the entire waste value chain, we are at your side.

A response to major challenges:

Adapting to climate change

Integrating renewable and carbon-free energy production solutions from their waste into our customers' energy mix

Anticipate tensions on the supply and cost of energy and materials

Giving a second life by promoting the reuse or recycling of rare earths and metals, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, developing a circular and local economy

Preserving the environment and the living environment

Preserving the environment and the living environment

Professionalising informal activities in emerging countries

Securing the informal waste sorting and recovery activities that exist on the sites for which we are responsible, training and supporting the reconversion and the realisation of a personal project.

Tailor-made solutions to give waste a second life

Across the entire value chain, we put our consulting and engineering expertise at the service of better waste management in France, as well as internationally.

Strategic studies and waste management plans

Define a long-term integrated and operational waste management strategy based on diagnoses of the existing situation, considering the prospects for socio-economic development at the level of the territory or a country

Feasibility studies

Evaluate and compare several scenarios and combinations of solutions to implement the most optimal technically, environmentally and socio-economically

Technical assistance, project management assistance

Ensure the smooth running of the project by coordinating all the parties involved (designer, builder, etc.), be responsible for ensuring that the budget and schedule are respected, but also that the installations are compliant

Project management design, drafting of contract documents, monitoring of construction work

Carry out the complete project management of a waste treatment facility project by contributing as an integrated engineering within a consortium

Conduct technical, regulatory, environmental, organisational or due diligence audits

of waste collection or treatment facilities as part of management plans on behalf of a local authority or an industrial company, the continuous improvement of our operating processes or an acquisition

Ensuring environmental performance across the entire waste value chain

We support you in providing services with a net positive socio-environmental impact, in line with local environmental regulations.

At all stages of your projects, we reconcile environmental performance, technical and economic requirements to define high value-added projects.

Decontaminating and rehabilitating polluted sites and soils to give them a second life

Preventing future pollution, ensuring the safety of newly discovered sites, knowing, monitoring and controlling the impacts, treating and rehabilitating according to the use and then perpetuating this use, keeping the memory, involving all the stakeholders: our teams address all these issues.

In response to the needs of manufacturers or development and construction projects, our engineers offer you adapted solutions.

Provision of financial guarantees, cessation of activity, construction or development project on a polluted or unpolluted site, environmental monitoring, we intervene at all stages of the life cycle of your projects:

Soil pollution studies

with a view to defining and costing pollution management measures

Preparation of cessation files

safety and restoration of the site to limit the risks to public health and the environment

Management

of excavated soil during development projects

Qualification and quantification

of the impacts generated during incidents and accidents and support for the operator of facilities classified as environmental protection (ICPE) in its declaration and the development of its security/decontamination strategy.

Operational expertise in asbestos removal and demolition

Asbestos removal, deconstruction, demolition, decontamination... Our teams are authorised to prevent asbestos-related risks and ensure your operations in:

Dismantling

following a cessation of activity

Asbestos removal

and partial or complete dismantling of production units

Deconstruction

following a disaster or industrial accident

Demolition

of superstructures and infrastructure

Your projects are then secured, with control of possible hazards and drifts.

From the design phase, our authorised experts:

Consider residual risks (chemical, electrical, etc.).

Issue a critical opinion on the Asbestos Technical File,

Analyse the MDPE (Product, Equipment, Materials, Waste) diagnosis to optimise reuse and recovery, clarify the process (pre-cleaning, asbestos removal, cleaning, felling, etc.)

Propose working methodologies adapted to the project and its environment to take into account structural separations, neighbours and nuisance management.

Taking advantage of a new energy source to reduce a territory's dependence on fossil fuels

Our teams, reinforced by external expertise*, are carrying out a feasibility study for the Municipality of Meknes in order to assess the main challenges of the biomethane sector.

Securing the resource, sizing the purification process, analysing marketing channels, consolidating financial viability, etc. considering the absence of a city gas network in Morocco.

A set of missions involving:

  • Carry out an inventory of the current degradation process, to anticipate production in the years to come Size the WAGABOX® purification process and its adaptation to the context of the site to remove any technical obstacles and define the costs of biomethane production
  • Carry out a technical and economic study of biomethane recovery pathways, at the territorial level and on a larger scale, to identify the logistical, regulatory and financial issues of the "biomethane" sector envisaged
  • Quantify, at each stage, the energy performance of the recovery solution to define a competitive and viable selling price for the biomethane produced and to analyse the financing mechanisms that can be requested

Prepare the waste management plan for Croatia with specific analyses

To meet the requirements of the European Union, our team will provide expert support and will conduct the necessary analyses to support the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MESD) in the revision of the plan.

Our teams are responsible for providing a base of expertise to the MESD for the National Waste Management Plan, from 2023 to 2028 by:

Analysing...

  • the current situation of waste management: the type, quantity and source of waste generated, transboundary shipments of waste, including forecasts of the development of waste streams
  • the need for new collection systems and waste treatment infrastructure

Defining...

  • measures to be taken to improve waste collection and its environmentally friendly reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal
  • the necessary investments in the short, medium and long term and the possible sources of financing for the proposed measures
  • Effective KPIs for monitoring NDMP implementation

Supporting the Seine Aval wastewater treatment plant in the modernisation of its biogas production unit

As project managers integrated into the design-build consortium, our teams are tasked with carrying out the project management services for the entire redesign of the unit, except for the medium-pressure biogas rack.

The Seine Aval wastewater treatment plant, which treats 1,500,000 m³/d of wastewater before being discharged into the Seine, is at the heart of a vast renovation project with a view to making it a modern plant combining performance and environmental protection.

A vast renovation project aimed at:

  • Increasing the energy autonomy of the Seine Aval plant
  • Controlling industrial risk and anticipating regulatory changes
  • Offering an efficient and safe tool to operators
  • Preserving the quality of life of local residents, thanks to a unit that blends into the landscape, on the edge of the forest

Supporting SIBA in the design of their second Sediment Management Unit

The natural site of the Arcachon basin is subject to sediment siltation, causing problems of hindrance to the navigability of oyster farmers, fishermen and boaters.

Our teams are supporting the Syndicat Intercommunal du Bassin d'Arcachon, in charge of dredging sediments from ports and channels, on the creation of its first onshore sediment storage and management unit.

The objective: to maintain the water levels necessary for users and to make waterways safer

Including their recovery in a context of biodiversity preservation, the sediments resulting from these operations are transported to settling and storage basins, then evacuated from the site once dry. These settling and storage basins have recently been categorised as Classified Facilities for the Protection of the Environment.

The storage and processing process required the creation of:

3

drip basins

with a total capacity of 11,600 m³

3

storage basins

with a total capacity of 9,500 m³

5

water collection lagoons

with a total capacity of 10,500 m³

1

covered work area

on 2,000 m²

A project combining an industrial process with the development of a specific biodiversity:

  • Promote the maintenance and/or development of natural fauna and flora
  • Assess the attractiveness of the area after the work and during operation
  • Creating a disturb-free space over a long period of the year has been achieved.
