World Biodiversity Day: we are stepping up our efforts to preserve biodiversity on our sites
These commitments reflect the special place of nature in our activities, but also our strong convictions in this area. Collective action is needed to halt the decline in biodiversity, and as a company we have a role to play.
Our commitments target the five key drivers of biodiversity loss identified by IPBES , by taking concrete action to combat land artificialisation, overexploitation of natural resources, climate change, water pollution and invasive alien species.
We are already seeing tangible results: in 2024, more than one in two priority sites had a biodiversity action plan, and 98% of renaturation projects used only local species.
We are also committed to designing and deploying for our customers innovative nature-based solutions or solutions that help to restore nature. We draw on our expertise in biodiversity monitoring and assessment, eco-design of infrastructure, ecological engineering, environmental restoration and biomonitoring.
To take this a step further, in 2025 we are launching our Nature Standards, a set of best practices for our sites in operation and under construction to preserve ecosystems: ecological management of spaces, taking into account the biological cycles of species, and combating invasive exotic species.
