Faced with the challenges of scarce resources and climate change, SUEZ is accelerating the development of innovative solutions and working with French and international players to anticipate natural events (floods, droughts, etc.) and create new resources (desalination, wastewater and waste recycling).
By 2030, the Earth will have 9 billion inhabitants, 60% of whom will live in cities and 41 megacities of more than 10 million inhabitants. Urbanization, coupled with the challenges of resource scarcity and climate change, require a shift from a linear to a circular society model where waste and water become new resources.
The Resource Revolution is not something that can be decreed, it is something that must be done. It must not be announced, it must be adopted. It is a global change in production and consumption patterns that affects our food, our living spaces, our materials...
Every day, SUEZ takes up the challenges created by a double revolution, the scarcity of natural resources and the rise of digital technology, to provide its customers - local authorities, industrialists and consumers - with concrete technologies and solutions for the circular economy.
To participate in the joint development of these future solutions, the Group relies on open innovation involving all stakeholders (experts, researchers, engineers, elected officials, urban planners, industrialists and entrepreneurs).
In this sense, SUEZ is organising the Group's first innovation week, which brings together the French and international players (cities such as New Orleans, Dijon; manufacturers such as Nestlé, L'Oréal, Bouygues, etc.; experts, etc.) to develop tomorrow's solutions around 3 themes; 3 urgences to secure the resources essential to our future: How to feed the planet with limited resources; creating intelligent and sustainable cities; giving new life to waste, especially plastic?
Discover in our press kit some of the innovations on these 3 themes.
