The intercommunal syndicate for waste treatment in the north and east of the Island, SYDNE, chooses SUEZ, through its subsidiary Inovest, for the household waste services from 1 July 2019. The 15-year contract, worth a total of 242 million euros, covers sorting, multi-channel treatment (plastic, glass, paper etc.) and recovery of household and similar waste. The project demonstrates the syndicate’s wish to adopt a circular economy approach, by switching from storage solution to recovery. The plant, built by SUEZ, will also recover waste from businesses.
