2020 Integrated report: Shaping a sustainable environment, now!

In 2020, SUEZ published its 5th Integrated Report. This document presents the company's strategic and forward-looking vision, as well as its 2019 results for the benefit of each of its stakeholders.
By providing an understanding, analysis and measurement of a company's overall performance and its interactions with society, it aims to meet the new expectations of investors, customers, partners, NGOs and employees.
Trends

The trends of an accelerating changing world

The development of the circular economy, the emergence of new models, stricter regulations, biodiversity preservation, increased popular awareness of the climate crisis, the health emergency and damage to the environment… the stakes are rising across the world. The 2020 Integrated Report identifies and analyses 4 trends that will shape the future of SUEZ activities.

At a time when these changes are accelerating, the need for responsiveness and agility in SUEZ's business lines and models is a constant challenge, and the analysis of the risks and opportunities for SUEZ is a necessity, which the integrated Report also presents.

Transformative levers to serve the Group’s strategy

To make its 2030 vision a reality, SUEZ is deploying a transformation strategy built on three pillars: a more selective path to growth, simplified operational processes and a new culture that embodies the SUEZ winning spirit on a daily basis.

A reinforced climate strategy

The convergence between the actions of public authorities and economic players towards a low-carbon economy has never been as strong as it is now. This is why SUEZ has made its contribution to the fight against climate change even more ambitious as part of its strategic plan, including three commitments for 2030 aligned with the 1.5°C trajectory recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Ethics, dialogue and vigilance

Throughout 2019, all the Group's stakeholders have been involved, via a highly structured process in line with SUEZ's tradition of dialogue, in the development of its Purpose.

In addition, the continued implementation of the Vigilance Plan in the Group's entities focused more specifically in 2019 on the strengthening of the Health/Safety policy, the protection of personal data and the prevention of human rights risks related to the activity, in certain countries, of companies using secondary raw materials produced by the Group.

The Integrated Report 2020 highlights in particular

  • The strategy of alliances and advocacy for a sustainable environment
  • Management of the environmental risks associated with the Group's facilities, using the example of a wastewater treatment plant.
