1st Global Planning Meeting in preparation of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development
In order to anticipate the necessary measures over the next 10 years as part of the protection of our oceans, the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO will convene the 1st Global Planning Meeting from 13 to 15 May 2019, in which SUEZ will participate. The meeting will take place in Copenhagen (Denmark) and will be held at the National Museum of Denmark.
With the participation of about 200 opinion leaders and key stakeholders, including Tommy AHLERS, Minister of Science, Information Technology and Higher Education of Denmark, and Peter THOMSON, Special Envoy for the Ocean, appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the purpose of this meeting is to identify concrete deliverables and partnerships to meet the Decade's six societal objectives:
- A Safe Ocean
- A Sustainable and Productive Ocean
- A Transparent and Accessible Ocean
- A Clean Ocean
- A Healthy and Resilient Ocean
- A Predicted Ocean
Marc SIMON and Nicolas LEVY will present the solutions developed by SUEZ for the preservation of the oceans and coastline, and participate in the working groups to define the Communication’s action plan for the next decade.
