Fondation SUEZ x ACF Master Wash: a Master’s degree to meet humanitarian needs in terms of water, hygiene and sanitation
While local university facilities do exist, a specialised humanitarian training would allow full implementation and the transfer of the most important positions to national experts.
Action against Hunger and its partners Bioforce (humanitarian profession training institute) and the German Jordanian University of Amman created a 1st year Master's programme: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene as part of a “humanitarian context” in the Middle East region. A project to build local capacity in order to mitigate humanitarian and emergency crises.
The one-and-a-half-year academic programme includes two semesters of theoretical courses at the GJU, one semester in a practical work-study placement in a humanitarian organisation, and a final semester to write the master’s thesis.
