Making our customers happy through excellent O&M services

The state-of-the-art Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), that serves the city of New Delhi has been one of the busiest airports, with a footprint of over 60 million passengers every year. The airport is being managed by Delhi International Airport (P) Limited (DIAL). In 2015, DIAL assigned the operation and management of the airport’s water and wastewater treatment facilities to SUEZ for a period of five years.
The Mission

SUEZ is fully aware of the fact that it is responsible for the continuous supply of high-quality potable water for millions of national and international passengers and hence any mistake will create inconvenience to them. It will also impact the reputation of our client as well as the city. Thus, the objective has been to ensure an uninterrupted supply of quality water. Moreover, the wastewater treated at STP is being reused for air-conditioning cooling, i.e., heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), toilet flushing, horticulture, etc. and thus it is essential that the treated water meets the required standards.

To ensure health and safety, campaigns are conducted at our plants every month for awareness among the staff. Mock drills are organized to reinforce emergency preparedness during fire incidents and other unfortunate events. We also ensure that water treated at the STP is reused for air-conditioning cooling, i.e., heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), toilet flushing, horticulture, etc.

Our Solutions

SUEZ has been known globally for its excellent operation and maintenance quality, enabling customers to optimize their production costs associated with water and wastewater treatment, ensuring effective management of their assets, respecting the standards and regulations in effect for health safety, the environment and quality. At IGIA, SUEZ adopted several good practices, which include ‘5S’, Kaizens, Continual Improvement Projects (CIP) based as JURAN Technology, Hazard Mapping and Zero Tolerance Projects, etc.

Safety campaigns are being conducted at the facilities every month to increase safety awareness among the staff and subcontractor’s workmen. Several mock drills are performed to reinforce emergency preparedness during fire incidents and other events. Champions are regularly rewarded for their good practices and behaviour.

The Result
The fact that the facility has been in operation without any interruption since we had taken charge in 2015 reflects our commitment and capability. With all these expertise and efforts, this plant is indeed an excellent example of a model operating plant in India. This success further reinforces the recognition of SUEZ’s services as a source of continual improvement. This reference contract will offer significant opportunities for the development of Ultra Filtration and Reverse Osmosis technologies in India. During our great journey in this association with DIAL, we have earned various prizes for our excellent services, both from the client as well as on different industrial platforms, including Certificate of Excellence in the category of Engineering Service Provider of the Year by Airside, Distinguished Award at INSSAN’s 19th Creativity Summit, 2nd IGIA Idea Meet Excellence Award for 2016-2017, etc.
