UCD®, a solution that rapidly eliminates the drinking water deficit

To rapidly meet the drinking water requirements of cities with high population growth, SUEZ has developed the Degremont® Compact Unit or UCD®.

UCDs® are compact, prefabricated drinking water production plants, transported in metal containers, which have all the technologies of traditional plants built in concrete.

They are intended for isolated populations, for megacities undergoing rapid urban growth and in the event of natural disasters. These decentralised solutions facilitate access to drinking water for the benefit of populations, particularly women and children, who often have to travel long distances to fetch water.

UCD® are specially adapted to urgent needs and local specificities. These units have been installed all over the world, particularly in Africa in Bamako, Ouagadougou, Niamey and Yaoundé, and are compact, reliable, secure and easy to operate.

The UCD® modular systems are a solution to the challenges imposed by changes in raw water, the sharp increase in water demand or water stress and other external phenomena in urban water systems.
