Innovating to address water and waste challenges

Water and waste-related challenges are becoming increasingly urgent. To address them and better anticipate the needs of our clients and partners, we continue to strengthen our innovation capabilities to further protect the environment.

The water and waste services sector is evolving rapidly. Population and economic growth, combined with the impact of climate change on resources and cities, require new solutions:

  • To improve access to water, we must optimize the performance of water networks through leak detection and repair, and modernize infrastructure.
  • In response to resource scarcity, we must fully valorize waste and open the way to new material loops.
  • To tackle climate change, we must develop low-carbon energy solutions and services.
  • To address emerging forms of pollution, we must explore new drinking water treatment processes.

With 1,100 experts worldwide, nearly 1,800 patents, 10 research and excellence centers, and a strong culture of innovation across the organization, SUEZ is committed to accelerating major transitions by leveraging its core strengths.
