Adelaide Service Delivery contract commences

SUEZ this week officially commenced its partnership with SA Water on the Adelaide Service Delivery project.
In December 2020, SUEZ was announced as the successful tenderer in a bid worth up to $276 million over five years to provide production and treatment water and wastewater services to metropolitan Adelaide.

SUEZ chief operating officer (water), Roberto Bianchi, said this was a significant milestone, not just for SUEZ but for the people of Adelaide and SA Water.

“In just a few short months we have concluded a very demanding transition phase, implemented up-to-date payroll, finance and safety systems and welcomed dozens of new employees,” he said. “We know we have assembled the best team to provide the highest level of service and support in an alliance with SA Water in what is a landmark project for the Australian water industry.”
Under the arrangement, SUEZ will operate and maintain five drinking water and five wastewater treatment plants catering to the needs of around 1.2 million people. SUEZ will also manage water tanks, water and wastewater pumping stations and trunk mains.

Mr Bianchi said the SUEZ team is delighted to once again be supporting SA Water in its commitment to providing trusted water and wastewater services to the people of Adelaide, building on an initial five-year partnership.

“We appreciate the trust once again placed in us by the team at SA Water, led by chief executive David Ryan and we are committed to our shared ambition of operational excellence, to continue delivering trusted water services for the people of Adelaide,” he concluded.
