Sophie L’Hélias holds an MBA from INSEAD, an LLM degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a Master of Law degree from Pantheon-Sorbonne University and studied at the European Law Institute at the University of Saarbrücken in Germany.

Sophie L’Hélias was an attorney in New York and Paris before joining a hedge fund in New York as Managing Director. She heads LeaderXXchange, a strategic advisory that works with investors, corporates and and non-profits to integrate ESG in their governance, leadership, and investment.

A recognized expert on governance and ESG topics, she is co-founder of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) a leading international network of institutional investors for corporate governance.

She is a member of the Haut Comité de Gouvernance d’Entreprise (HCGE), a member of the board of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), a Senior Fellow with the Conference Board ESG Center in New York and a member of the Editorial Board of the Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance in Dubai.

Sophie L’Hélias serves on the board of directors of Kering (Euronext) as Lead Independent. She also serves on as independent director on board of directors of Herbalife (NYSE), Agence France Locale, Africa50 and Echiquier Positive Impact SICAV funds.
