Dialogue with stakeholders
Dialogue with stakeholders, at both the local and institutional levels, is an essential prerequisite for the operational performance of SUEZ's activities.
A strategic compass
This dialogue is also a strategic compass for the Group and an integral part of its corporate governance.
This priority is included in the 2012-2016 Sustainable Development policy through commitment 10 "Work together on solutions and have an open dialogue with our stakeholders".
Be involved in joint initiatives
SUEZ is actively involved in joint initiatives aiming to adopt a common language and guidelines in terms of dialogue with stakeholders.
At the international level, SUEZ is a member of the steering committee of the OECD's Water Governance Initiative. SUEZ has co-conducted a study on the dialogue between the stakeholders of the water management published by the OECD in 2015 (Stakeholder Engagement for Inclusive Water Governance) and supported the adoption in June 2015 of principles on water governance intended for OECD member states (OECD Principles on Water Governance).
In France, SUEZ took part in the development of Guiding Principles for Constructive Dialogue with Stakeholders, under the auspices of Comité 21, and helped to draft the Methodology Guide for constructive dialogue with stakeholders published in 2015. SUEZ ensures that these guidelines are incorporated into its internal procedures.
SUEZ regularly organizes consultation meetings at all relevant levels to ensure that the company's strategy is fully in line with the society's expectations. In 2015, the results of the materiality analysis were reviewed by three advisory panels and a consultation on the topic of the sustainable city also brought together experts and stakeholders in this area.
