SUEZ at the Global Water Summit 2017
On 24 and 25 April 2017, SUEZ will take part in the Global Water Summit (Madrid, Spain). This year’s theme is "Intelligent synergies". The Group has been preselected for two Global Water Awards: the “Smart Water Company of the Year” and the “Water Deal of the Year”.
In 2016, SUEZ installed more than 100,000 smart water meters in North America, and leak detectors too. The Group’s mission consists of building the biggest smart water optimisation network in the United States. SUEZ has been preselected for the “Smart Water Company of the Year” for this project.
A large-scale seawater desalination project
In 2018, the largest desalination by osmosis plant in the Sultanate of Oman will come on stream. This €276 million project is the fruit of a partnership between ITOCHU, SUEZ, ENGIE and W.J. TOWELL in the Barka Desalination Company. This project has been preselected for the “Water Deal of the Year” award.

The Global Water Summit is an important annual event for the Water sector. The 2017 summit will look at emerging new prospects, from Latin America to China, including the digitization of infrastructures and our command of data sciences that are upending the traditional dynamics of the sector.
