The SUEZ Foundation: 15 years of helping children

Created at the end of 1992 under the ægis of the Fondation de France, SUEZ Foundation helps children in adversity. It focuses on long-term projects carried out with associations well-rooted in their communities and with which it can establish partnerships for several years. In France, it concentrates its efforts on children suffering illness and supports actions that contribute to making hospital stays more bearable, or provide access to leisure activities. Recently, the Foundation has committed to supporting educational programs for children from under-privileged backgrounds.

In other parts of the world, SUEZ Foundation lends support in countries where the Group operates to children who live in extremely precarious conditions, such as children living in the street or in shantytowns, or children suffering from AIDS. Finally, it supports numerous initiatives put forward by Group employees who, working side-by-side with associations abroad, relay the Foundation’s commitment to children.

From Asia to the Middle East, South America to Europe, the Foundation is sensitive to suffering in every form, such as children surviving in orphanages, child prostitutes, minors at risk, handicapped children abandoned by their families, and children who are victims of AIDS.

Since its creation, SUEZ Foundation has helped numerous associations improve the lives of thousands of children and young persons. Its mission continues. SUEZ believes that the right to happiness of every child throughout the world is also a right to the essentials of life.
