Born on July 24, 1939 in London (Great Britain), is a British citizen. Lord Simon has an MA from Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau. In 1961 he joined British Petroleum, where he occupied a number of management positions before being appointed Chairman in 1995. After exercising several ministerial positions from 1997, he became advisor to the British Prime Minister for the modernization of government. He was also appointed advisor to President Prodi for the reform of the European Union. Lord Simon entered the House of Lords in 1997.
