The Conseil de développement économique durable de Paris (CODEV - Paris council for sustainable economic development) was inaugurated by the Mayor of Paris on Monday 4 March, 2002.
The Council's mission is to propose actions in favor of employment to the Mayor and to aim to associate Paris' economic and social players with the city's efforts . The method employed is consultation, to develop ideas and projects that contribute to development of activity and innovation as well as to Paris' international reputation and influence, thereby favoring employment.
CODEV has 40 members. It is chaired by former minister Lionel Stoléru and managed by its General Secretary Marc Lebert. SUEZ has been a member since 2004. The Council members' mission is to propose concrete actions and to carry out strategic analysis of chosen themes, based on existing studies and diagnoses.
