Energy efficiency: Reduced emissions and costs

One of the prime initiatives to combat climate change is the search for better energy efficiency. Cogeneration, which produces electricity and heat simultaneously, is exemplary in this respect because of its reduced CO2 emissions and because it provides an energy saving of more than 10% in relation to separate production. As a specialist in cogeneration (and trigeneration, which also produces cold), SUEZ optimizes its facilities and those of its clients to reduce consumption without altering levels of comfort or quality of supply. Aiming to lower their energy costs and environmental impacts, increasing numbers of industrial and local authority clients are calling in SUEZ to build and operate their cogeneration and trigeneration units, which reach an overall energy efficiency of more than 80%

Implementation of an effective energy policy also allows the Group's subsidiaries to maximize the reliability of facilities and to limit losses in efficiency by appropriate maintenance. Their services also include specialist help that allows monitoring of energy consumption data.
